Well, hello dA!
I am currently at my internship, slaying time as it were, because I happened to arrive a day earlier than desired, for the first day of my internship!
Luckily, unlike most unlucky volunteers, they could use my help; which is why I am currently manning the front desk, acting like I know what I'm doing (much fun!), scaring off wary staffers with my stupidity. (Okay, the latter was a lie.)
The thing about the front desk... you're not supposed to answer the phone, it's purpose is to be at your beck and call. So what IS my job? Keep the seat full with a warm body. Be a bright and confident face of United Way. Give guidance to wary visitors (which are FEW and FAR). So far, I have successfully helped a dude on court martial looking for some volunteer hours, received and signed packages, locked myself out of the computer, ate lunch, read and dozed on oodles of United Way materials.
But soon I shall leave the comfy, well air-conditioned cooridors of office life, and watch Firefly and audition for a duet. Then beg for some time off to go to the beach.

Do please note that I rarely write journals, unless...
a) faced with traumatic stress/exciting news that needs venting
b) I am close to dying of boredom in an interesting situation.
